Camera Roll Crumbs; A Week In My Life

Many times, we take pictures that we don’t post because they don’t look “postable” on social media, or because they’re not edited enough. I decided to document a week in my life, camera roll crumbs and all.

“Take off the mask for the photo or you will look like you’re trying to rob a bank!”

On Sunday, I went rollerblading with my dad for 2 whole hours. I tried Kombucha for the first time (tastes like vinegar) and wore a black mask that matched my outfit, because a pandemic will not stop my fashion sense. I came home and had time to complete exactly 2.5 reports before a lovely family dinner.

Monday was very Mondayish in that nothing special happened. I did 4 reports (this is the daily quota that I gave myself) and figured out my Continuity Care schedule for the week. I also exercised.

On Tuesday, I had my first session of the week for Continuity Care. I also lost my phone. My beloved Umidigi smartphone, known for its long battery life and sub-par camera, was misplaced. Naturally, I turned the house upside down to find my long lost love. In the process, I saw a truly heinous amount of dust and ended up deep cleaning my room. Still no phone. It was also my best friend’s 21st birthday. Since the three of us were all isolated from others for 2 weeks, we got to meet up!

On Wednesday, I learned about a person with Noonan syndrome (don’t worry, I’ve also never heard of it) and got to watch an interesting session. At the end of the day, I went to Irvine with my boyfriend, which has the prettiest lake.

This is the lake in question; isn’t it stunning?

Thursday was an extremely lazy day. I did not exercise. I only did 2.5 reports, which is less than half of my daily quota. I had my Continuity Care session, but that was basically the only productive thing. I was deeply annoyed at myself. No pictures from this day.

On Friday, annoyed at yesterday’s unproductivity, I practically leapt out of bed and did 5 reports. I searched for my lost Umidigi phone some more (still no luck), and finally finished editing the Thank You video for my scholarship. I also emailed the student accounts email to straighten out a little bit of confusion with my grad school class and did a long leg day workout at my home gym. Then, I got to catch up with my friend Elizabeth! We met up 6 feet apart, in masks, at the park. While we talked, two cute dogs ran up to us. P.s.: I am definitely a cat person.

Last, it was Saturday. I keep the Sabbath, but I managed to take a picture of my nails. The plot twist? As you’ll see, this picture was taken on the UMIDIGI! Yes! I actually found it (ironically, nowhere near the rooms that I deep cleaned while searching for it).

If you have to wear gloves most of the time, might as well have cute nails underneath!

So, that’s my week, as raw and real as it gets, with both productive days and social days mixed in. How was your week?

Hi everyone! I started my doctorate in clinical psychology in fall 2020. A google search revealed that there are no current grad school blogs for psychology students. Anyway, I happen to know a girl who wants to document her journey to getting a doctorate (spoiler: it's me). Welcome. Hope you stay awhile!
