School and practicum are both back in full swing, so here is a Monday in my life.
My mom ordered umbrellas for our family for the first time this week- before that, we were able to get by in California without an umbrella.
So it was with a sense of pride that I matched my first umbrella to my business casual (ish) outfit and wore them both out.

The schedule wasn’t bad today. I had a therapy patient. Eager to get back to doing therapy, I ended up doing more psychoeducation than usual and getting super excited about teaching all the cognitive distortions. But my patient liked it. At noon, I called my assessment patient to ask a few questions.

I was also able to send out two reports today, which is always a win.
When I got home, I was greeted by a lavish Mediterranean spread– my brother used his day off to cook. I chased pieces of beef around the plate with homemade pita bread. The meal was complete with an Israeli salad and hummus. My brother doesn’t like being praised, but even he had to admit that the end result was a thing of beauty.

My contribution was the cleanup, because apparently hours of good cooking produce hours of mess. I find cleaning to be relaxing, though.
After that, I went up to my room and spent a solid hour watching fashion videos (it’s not wasting time if you are relaxing– right?).
Then, I had a continuity care session, which went well.
At 9:30 pm, I told myself that it was time for the gym. I try not to break promises to myself, but this particular gym outing took some convincing. A part of me very much wanted to stay in bed. But I knew I’d feel good after some exercise.
That brings us to the gym. It is 10 pm and I spent twelve reluctant minutes on the stairmaster, but already, I feel more calm. The gym at 10 pm is almost dead silent compared to its usual. I lifted some weights, going higher than my usual. I set a goal to get stronger this year.
Update: it’s 11:12 pm and it’s very much time for bed. Tomorrow will be a full school day, so I’ll have to wake up early.
Thank you for reading!
Fashion, fitness and flavor. It looks like a great Monday. I don’t know how much energy I would have going to the gym that late. But you made it! Your standards will take you far.
